Used Juniper Application Acceleration - WAN Compression Optimizers

Juniper's application acceleration platforms (WAN Compression Optimizers) speed up application response times within central sites, to branch offices, and for remote users. Juniper has several WX and WXC Application Acceleration Platforms to choose from. Not only can they accelerate business applications, but they provide voice, video and terminal services over wide-area networks. These platforms accelerate performance over the WAN by eliminating redundant transmissions, accelerating TCP and application-specific protocols, prioritizing and allocating access to bandwidth, and ensure high application availability at sites with multiple WAN links. WX platforms are deployed on the LAN side of the WAN router as it supports flexible deployment options. WXC platforms support both inline and off-path configurations in multipath environments, as well as asymmetric deployments and secure IPSec configurations over public networks.

WX Application Acceleration Platforms

• WX 15 - Two copper fail-to-wire 10/100 Ethernet ports, supports total reduction throughput speeds  ranging from 64 Kbps - 1 Mbps, supports up to six connections to other branch offices or data centers using WX or WXC devices, designed for small offices.

• WX 20 - Two copper fail-to-wire 10/100 Ethernet ports, supports total reduction throughput speeds ranging from 64 Kbps - 2 Mbps, supports up to ten connections to other branch offices or data centers using WX or WXC devices, designed for small to medium-sized offices.

• WX 60 - Two copper fail-to-wire 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, supports total reduction throughput speeds  ranging from 512 Kbps - 20 Mbps, supports up to 110 connections to other branch offices or data centers using WX or WXC devices, designed for large branch offices and small data center applications.

• WX 100 - Two copper fail-to-wire 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, supports total reduction throughput speeds  ranging from 1 Mbps - 20 Mbps, supports up to 105 connections to other branch offices or data centers using WX or WXC devices, designed for large branch offices and small data center applications.

• WX Stack - The WX Stack consists of one WX 100 platform and up to to six WX 60 clients working together as a single unit, supports total reduction throughput speeds up to 155 Mbps, supports up to 660 connections to other branch offices or data centers using WX or WXC devices, designed to support an unlimited number of locations.

WXC Application Acceleration Platforms

• WXC 250 - 40 GB internal hard drive, two copper 10/100 Ethernet ports, supports total reduction throughput speeds ranging from 128 Kbps to 2 Mbps, supports up to 10 connections to other branch offices, headquarters, or data center WXC devices, designed for small to medium-sized branch offices.

• WXC 1800 -  80 GB internal hard drive, two copper 10/100 Ethernet ports, supports total reduction throughput speeds ranging from 512 Kbps to 2 Mbps, supports up to 10 connections to other branch offices, headquarters, or data center WXC devices, designed for small to medium-sized branch offices.

• WXC 2600 - 250 GB internal hard drive, two copper 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, supports total reduction throughput speeds ranging from 2 Mbps to 8 Mbps, supports up to 20 connections to other branch offices, headquarters, or data center WXC devices, designed for medium to large-sized branch offices and small data centers.

• WXC 500 - 250 GB internal hard drive (for a total of 500 GB of storage), two copper 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, supports total reduction throughput speeds ranging from 512 Kbps to 20 Mbps, supports up to 140 connections to other branch offices, small data centers using WXC devices, designed for large-sized branch offices and small data centers.

• WXC 590 - 250 GB internal hard drive (for a total of 500 GB of storage), two copper 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, supports total reduction throughput speeds ranging from 2 Mbps to 45 Mbps, supports up to 140 connections to other branch offices, small data centers using WXC devices, designed for data center applications.

• WXC 3400 - 500 GB internal hard drive (for a total of 1 TB of storage), two copper 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, supports total reduction throughput speeds ranging from 10 Mbps to 45 Mbps, supports up to 140 connections to other branch offices, small data centers using WXC devices, designed for head office and data center applications.

• WXC Stack - The WXC Stack pairs up to six WXC 500 and WXC 590 platforms with WX 100 to support up to 155 Mbps link speeds, supports up to 840 connected locations and in full configuration, provides 3 TB of internal storage capacity, and designed for large data centers.
