Used Juniper MX-Series Ethernet Services Routers
The Juniper MX-series is a carrier-grade Ethernet
solution, because they provide Ethernet switching capabilities and
separate control and forwarding functions. The MX-series has the
following three Ethernet services routers: MX240, MX480, and MX960.
Each one of these routers have Dense Port Concentrators, a Routing
Engine, and a Switch Control Board.
MX240 Ethernet Services Router
-
Increased port density
(compared to traditional carrier Ethernet platforms),
-
300 + Gbps throughput,
-
Fully redundant hardware
(such as a redundant Switch control Board (SCB) and Routing
Engines (REs).
MX480 Ethernet Services Router
-
Provides high density,
highly redundant platform for medium and large Points of
Presence (POPs),
-
Common hardware
redundancy (such as Switch Control Board, Routing Engines, fan
trays, and power supplies).
MX960 Ethernet Services Router
-
Provides high density of
Layer 2 and 3 Ethernet platform,
-
Provides Ethernet
services - VPLS services for multi-point connectivity, Virtual
Leased Line for point-to-point services, full support for MPLS
VPNs throughout the Ethernet Network, Ethernet Aggregation at
the Campus/Enterprise Edge, and Ethernet Aggregation at the
Multiservice Edge,
-
Redundant Switch Control
Board and Routing Engine - all major components are field
replaceable.
